Getting Out Of The Comfort Zone and Reaching Your Goal – Day 34 / 40
Today’s Saturday. It’s a reflection day for me.
I run across this set of videos where Jay Kubassek talks about how to get out of the comfort zone, feeling being worth what you earn etc. Things that come across when building a business and how to deal with it.
We can be Reactive, Neutral or Proactive about it:
- Neutral stays in the center of the comfort zone and arrives safely at the grave. They are afraid of being challenged.
- Reactive person reacts to pain and bounces between extremes.
- Proactive person thinks primarily of the goal. He/she allows the subconscious to solve the problems and gets to experience the initially terrifying and eventually ecstatic break from the comfort zone edge.
Breaking this edge or “terror barrier” consistently makes it more comfortable and comfort zone expands. Confidence develops that it can be done and it feels easier. The range changes permanently. All of the “terror barriers” don’t go away, but they do become part of the comfort zone until the next terror barrier we need to face to reach the next milestone.
We are talking about a significant shift to break a patterns and prevent past happening over and over (even with an expanded comfort zone) and creating desirable future instead. This nicely builds on my post on how to make a change happen.
